LCPL Steven Louis Hellwig, born April 12, 1948. Our brave Marine, honorable and proud American, beloved son, cherished brother, and irreplaceable hero.

Steven was born on April 12, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, to Louis and Verly Hellwig. He was the brother of Gary, Raymond, and Leonie Hellwig. Steven, a 1966 graduate of Shorecrest High School, had enlisted in the Marine Corps to serve his country.

LCPL Hellwig was a radio operator with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Div. (Rein). He was killed in action at Khe Sanh, South Vietnam, on January 21, 1968.

Though taken from us 50 years ago today January 21, 2018, we are all still here, Steve, loving you and missing you every day of our lives. Mom, Dad, Gary, Ray, and Lee.
