Stephen Roosevelt Maddies was a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant General. He died in Baghdad, Iraq as a war casualty. Maddies served in the 473rd Supply and Service Battalion stationed out of Columbia, Tennessee. From Elizabethton, Tennessee, he was not far away from home when at base in Columbia. Maddies was born in 1965 in a L.A., CA hospital. He went straight into the military out of Carson High School. He completed his military training at Fort Lendarwood, Missouri. Maddies has been on 3 tours; one year in Saudi Arabia, two years in Korea and two years in Iraq. He served in Fort Brag in the 82nd airborne as well. After Fort Brag he had a second daughter. He always cherished and loved his daughters with all his heart. He left behind 6 brothers, 6 sisters, 2 daughters and his wife. His life was dedicated to the Lord and will be missed but never forgotten.
