Robert Dean Doxon was one of three children born to Everette E. and Golda M. Briles Doxon. He was born at Formoso on March 1, 1933. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1951. He was a United States Army Veteran having served two years during the Korean War.

He married Shirley Lea Knarr May 29, 1955, and moved to the farm southwest of Jewell where he farmed with his father-in-law, Glade Knarr. To this union two sons were born.

Mr. Doxon was a prominent member of several fraternal organizations and belonged to the American Legion.

Robert Dean Doxon, 59, died in Beloit on March 10, 1992. Services were conducted on March 13th at Trinity United Methodist Church, Jewell. The Rev. Mark Moore officiated. Burial was in the Jewell Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, a son, Curtis, five grandchildren, his mother, a brother, and sister. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Timothy “Tim” Doxon born January 27 1960 and died January 8 1989, 28 years old at Jewell.
