Krystiana Banach was 22 years old. He was a bachelor, came from a large family, he had nine brothers and sisters. He served in the Army since 2008. He was the driver. His service was in the composition of the X shift of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. It was his first tour abroad.

Krystian was one of five Polish soldiers from the 20th Mechanized Brigade who were killed on Wednesday during an attack on a convoy near the town of Razaak.
