RUSSELLVILLE, KY, USA U.S. Army CPL, COMPANY C, 1ST BATTALION, 18TH INFANTRY, SCHWEINFURT, GERMANY BAGHDAD, IRAQ 05/30/2007
My son is Corporal Joshua McKay Moore. Known by his family as Josh. Known by his friends as Little Moore. Known by his Army brothers as Mo Money.
Mo Money was a nickname his Army buddies gave him. They said he was always saying he wanted more money. He was 20 years old. He was the youngest of the family. He was a nice looking young fellow. Very smart, he loved sports. He was a small guy, but very fast. He always wanted to be the best at no matter what he did.
He graduated from Logan County High School in 2005. He joined the Army on August 2nd 2005. After basic training he was stationed in Germany. He went to Germany in December 2005. Then he was deployed to Iraq in October of 2006.
He was killed by an IED on May 30, 2007 in Bagdad Iraq. Josh was assigned to 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany. Josh’s hometown is Russellville, KY. He is the only soldier to die in this war from Logan County, Kentucky.
He fought this war for all Americans to keep enjoying their freedom. The way I see it he gave his life, along with his fellow military brothers and sisters that lost their lives in this war, for my freedom. They gave up theirs for us to keep ours. Josh is MY SON, MY SOLDIER, MY HERO. I am proud to be an American and very, very proud of our military.
