LCPL Joshua Michael Martino was born on May 28, 1993 in DuBois, PA to Karen (Murdock) Perry of DuBois, PA and Vincent Martino of Brockway, PA.
“Since he was probably 8 years old he wanted to be a Marine. That’s all he wanted to do.” According to his mother Karen Perry
Josh Martino, known as Tino to his friends, liked to snowboard and was an avid hunter. Joshua was a 2012 graduate of DuBois Area High School where he was a member of the track, football, and rifle teams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Josh loved to travel and had recently participated in the People to People Program as a student ambassador traveling to Europe.
He was engaged to be married to Annastasia Srock in October of this year.
LCPL Martino was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. He was in Nevada for training in preparation for being shipped out to Afghanistan. He hoped to marry his fiancee Annastasia Srock in October, before the deployment. He had joined the Marine Corps in July.
Joshua died Monday, March 18, 2013 in Hawthorne, NV as a result of injuries sustained in a military training mission.
