Sergeant Schoolcraft was honored in a variety of ways following his death in Iraq. He will always be a hero to his family and friends.

The Ohio State Senate adopted Resolution 100 in his memory:

Jon Schoolcraft left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he touched, and he will be remembered as a spirited individual who contributed immeasurably to the world around him…He embodied a combination of knowledge and commitment that made him a truly valuable part of our country’s armed forces…we take this opportunity to remember his exceptional record of service.

Jon Schoolcraft’s zealous love of life and his selfless devotion to the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human being and a leading citizen. The love, compassion, and understanding he extended to others will long remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.

The ultimate sacrifice that Sergeant Jon Schoolcraft made to defend the ideals of democracy will stand as a monument to his personal character.
