POLISH MILITARY PERSONNEL IN THE INTERNATIONAL STABILIZATION FORCES IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ

CPL Gerard Wasielewski was born in 1983 in Pokrzydów.

In 2002, he began basic military service at the 1st Drivers’ Center in Grudziądz as a driver.

On May 27, 2003, he was admitted to the army’s early military service. In June of the same year he took a duty position in the 12th Mechanized Brigade in Szczecin.

From August 4, 2003, he served in the Polish Military Contingent in Iraq. He died on December 22, 2003 as a result of a tragic accident at the base in Karbala.

CPL Wasielewski was posthumously appointed Corporal and honored with an entry in the Honor Book of the Minister of National Defense.

Gerard Wasilewski was a bachelor.
