ALLIANCE, OH, USA U.S. Marines LCPL, CSSD 21, (CLB-2), CHERRY POINT, NC AL QAIM, IRAQ 10/06/2005

Danny McVicker joined the Marines after graduating from West Branch High School in Alliance, Ohio. He worked on an air station in North Carolina for two years, during that time he repeatedly volunteered for deployment to Iraq. After the third time, he got his wish.

McVicker had a deep passion for his faith and his church often spending hours at a time with his pastor. He took that faith to war with him and became a man on the battlefield.

Friends describe him as a young man who valued his friends, his faith and his country.

Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel M. McVicker died while conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Al Qaim, Iraq. He was assigned to Combat Service Support Detachment 21, 2nd Force Service Support Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Cherry Point, North Carolina. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom he was attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
