Chad David Groepper graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School at midterm during the 2004-05 school year. He went out for the football team his senior year, played defense and had a lot of fun. Chad worked one summer for a local farming partnership, and he had been employed at a Kingsley plumbing shop.

During high school, Chad talked about embarking on various careers, but he always returned to the idea of joining the Army. He wanted to protect his family and to ensure freedom. He served his country well.

Chad’s family described him as having a warm personality and as someone who was a bit of a daredevil. A dirt bike, a four-wheeler, it didn’t matter, Chad loved them all. He loved working on cars, snowboarding, riding four-wheelers, anything that was high energy. More than his dirt bike or four-wheeler, he loved the military, always said he wanted to enlist.

While in Washington, he went on a blind date that would change his life – he met his future wife, Stephanie. They would go on to have a daughter, Clarissa; he met her a month after her birth, while he was home on leave from Iraq, where he had been since Easter weekend, 2007

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; their 4-month-old daughter, Clarissa; his father, David Groepper; his mother, Darcy Groepper; and sisters Denae and Abbie.
