PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA U.S. Army CPL, TROOP E, 3D SQUADRON, 8TH CAVALRY, 3 BCT, FORT HOOD, TX BALAD, IRAQ 10/25/2007

My husband Corporal Adam Chitjian was killed in action in Balad, Iraq on October 25th, 2007. Describing him in less than 2 paragraphs will be difficult; however, I will do my best.

Adam was from Philadelphia, Pa, 39 years old and lived his life fully and completely. He loved, laughed, debated and lived in full 3-d spectrum. He enjoyed riding his Harley, dirt bike, collecting guns and knives, music, art, movies, eating great meals, was patriotic, loved his family and friends. He was kind hearted so much so that he opened his heart and home to abandoned dogs and cats. Adam joined the army 2 days before his 35th birthday, after 9/11 to make a difference, to fight and defend his country and the freedoms we all take advantage of. He loved being a soldier and working towards a goal of freedom for the Iraqi people. Adam would spend his own money buying extra army gear for the Iraqi Army men he worked with and giving it to them, just to make sure they were outfitted correctly. He worried about their safety that was the kind of man Adam was – who does that for anyone?

Adam was the love of my life, we met, married and loved fully for 3 ½ years, never forgetting to say, I love you and miss you, never arguing over small insignificant things, always looking at the bigger picture and planning our lives for the here and now, with always a gleaming thought to the future.. He is missed.. My heart is broken and my dreams are shattered. Adam was the brightest star in the sky and his soul will never be gone. The stars in the sky shine brighter because he is there.
